Neil Savery is the Chief Planning Executive for the ACT Planning & Land Authority, which is a statutory authority performing a range of planning and development functions.
Prior to his appointment to the ACT Government Neil was the Executive Director of Planning SA within the South Australian Department of Transport and Urban Planning and before that he was the Director of City Planning and Special Projects at the City of Greater Geelong.
He is a member of the Australian Building Codes Board; is a member of the national Joint Building Planning Working Group; and is the current Chair of the Planning Officials Group.
Neil is National President Elect of the Planning Institute of Australia and holds qualifications in town planning, urban design and ecologically sustainable development, is an Adjunct Professor in Urban Design with the University of Canberra and a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute.
