Proponent: Makris Corporation
Proposal description: A proposal to build a $250 million retail and community complex (the 'Encounter Bay Village Shopping Centre') has been put forward by the Makris Corporation, which has identified a site four kilometres west south west of the existing Victor Harbor town centre for the development.

The Makris proposal includes:
- Retail floor space of approximately 16,000 square metres, including a discount department store and a supermarket;
- Bulky goods retailing of approximately 20,000 square metres;
- Associated car parking totalling 1843 spaces;
- A mall environment with associated food court;
- Cinemas with capacity seating for 700 people;
- Community use building for a library or meeting rooms;
- Recreational area comprising passive landscaped areas; and
- Residential development comprising 151 allotments at the north-eastern, western and south-western areas of the site.
