Tips on How to Use the System

Before using this search system, it is recommended you have the following:

  • A web browser with JavaScript enabled (to enable the use of many features of the system)
  • A broadband Internet connection

There are two search types - Map Search and Data Search.

Map Search

This search option is currently under development and will be available soon.

Data Search

To perform a Data search you will also need information identifying the land parcel. There are currently three search types available:

  • Plan Parcel Search

    • Plan Type (H) - Options appear in the drop down box in the Search tool
    • Plan Number (111100) - You will need to enter this number; and
    • Parcel Number (18) - You do not need to enter the letter next to this number (S in the example above), just the number.
  • ‘Plan Parcel Search’ allows you to search for the level of bushfire risk based on land parcels. Typically a land parcel is identified with a letter/number sequence (example: H 111100 S18). This sequence is made up of three parts (using the example):

You may be able to find Plan Parcel information on a Council Rates Notice, or obtain it by contacting your council, or from the Land Services Group's Property Location Browser (opens in new window)

  • Title Search

    • Prefix (CT) - Options appear in the drop-down box in the Search tool
    • Volume (5266) - You will need to enter this number; and
    • Folio (225) - You will need to enter this number
  • ‘Title Search’ allows you to search for level of bushfire risk based on Certificate of Title information. Typically a land title is identified in a letter/number sequence (example: CT5266/225). This sequence is made up of three parts:

You may be able to find this Certificate of Title information on a Council Rates Notice, or obtain it by contacting your council, or from the Land Services Group's Property Location Browser (opens in new window)

  • Assessment Search

  • ‘Assessment Search’ allows you to search for level of bushfire risk based on a valid Assessment Number (sometimes identified as a 'Valuation Number')(typically this will be a number with approximately 10 digits). You may be able to find this information on a Council Rates Notice, or obtain it by contacting your council, or from the Land Services Group's Property Location Browser (opens in new window)
