Employment Lands Forum

The Employment Lands Planning Forum was created in June 2008.

The Forum brings together private sector and state and local government representation to monitor both the supply of and demand for employment land in the Greater Adelaide area (metropolitan Adelaide and the near country areas surrounding Adelaide, including Port Wakefield, Bowmans, Balaklava, Monarto, Murray Bridge and Tailem Bend).

Part of the task of the Forum will be to broaden the focus of the previously released Industrial Land Strategy for Metropolitan Adelaide. To assist this, additional work is being carried out within the State Government to extend the detailed information on industrial land supply and demand to include the outer metropolitan region.

The members of the new Forum – who are each appointed for a two-year term – are:

  • Mr Mick O’Neill, Department of Trade and Economic Development (Director, Economic Analysis and Policy)
  • Mr Manuel Delgado, Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure (Project Director, Office of Major Projects and Infrastructure)
  • Mr David Litchfield, Land Management Corporation (General Manager, Projects)
  • Mr John Hanlon, Planning SA (Acting Executive Director)
  • Mr Tim Jackson, Metropolitan Local Government Group (Chief Executive, City of Playford)
  • Mr Des Commerford, South Australian Regional Organisation of Councils (Director, Environmental and Lifestyle Services, Alexandrina Council)
  • Mr John Laird, Property Council (SA) (Director, Candetti Constructions)
  • Mr Neil Murphy, South Australian Freight Council (General Manager)
  • Mr Stephen Myatt, Engineering Employers Association (Director)
